Joel Dreesen, Denver Broncos Tight end
Graduated from Fort Morgan High School
Joel Dreesen, grew up in Fort Morgan. Throughout his career, Joel has made it back to Fort Morgan several times. At least once a year, Joel visits local schools and gives presentations to local youth on his football career, success, and staying away from drugs. He has also helped out on several community projects, including the Fort Morgan Mural Project. Joel often talks of his fond memories of his childhood, always adding that he is proud to be from Fort Morgan.
Joel played football for the Fort Morgan Mustangs, and was a part of the 1999 State Championship team. He also played on the 1999 All State Team. After graduation, Dreesen was recruited by Coach Sonny Lubick to play for Colorado State University, where he started all 45 games that he played and was a two-time first-team All-Mountain West Conference selection. In the 2005 NFL Draft, Dreesen was drafted during the sixth round by the New York Jets . In 2007, Dreesen went to play for the Houston Texans, where he played until being signed by the Denver Broncos in March of 2012, bringing him back home.
Dreessen and his wife Stacy have a 2-year-old son, Dylan, and are expecting a daughter soon.
